This blog might be a little bit late; but THANK YOU TEXAS-finally your State has shown some common sense. For those people who have been under a rock for the last several weeks; this 'big man' and his 'dear wife' flogged into their then 15 year old phyiscally disabled daughter with large leather straps (and we do mean flogged) because she downloaded pirate music. Yes, it was stealing; but the flogging she got was nothing more than common criminal assualt. Fortunately, the daughter had the presence of mind to have a camera setup in her room and daddy and mommy dearest were caught belting the daylights out of her. Initially the State of Texas representatives were allegedly claiming that the parents had the right to discipline their child; the rest of the world was saying not like that they don't. Now, the texas Supreme Court has suspended the Judge for this act (which happened in 1994) with pay. His name is William Adams and he carries the title of Aransas County Judge; frightenly some media reports alleged that William Adams was a judge in family court matters. There was some suggestion by the media that his behaviour on the tape may call into question decisions he has made in some court matters-but that is for Texas (or which ever organisation does that in the USA) to determine. Over 6 million people have viewed the video of this individual and his wife flogging their child. Apparently, the Texas State Commission on Judical Conduct heard the public outcry over the judge's behaviour captured on video, viewed the video and decided to investigate. Remember; your voice counts, never think it does not.
